The Drew Carey Show was an incredibly popular show for the ABC lineup. It featured famous comedian Drew Carey in a show that challenged the basis of all major sitcoms. It had 9 successful seasons and created characters that are still loved today.
The show was made up of a bunch of "loser" characters, who were mostly stuck at dead end jobs. Drew Carey was the standard nice guy who constantly gets stepped on by the world. He was in a constant rivalry with coworker, Mimi. Mimi and drew constantly tried to do new pranks on each other, such as burning down Mimi's desk or sending a drunk Drew to China. Lewis and Oswald are the classic buddies who are constantly trying crazy and often stupid stunts for money or fun. Kate was a participant in several of these stunts. Drew and Kate have an obvious crush on each other, but Kate will eventually leave in the beginning of the eighth season. Mr. Wick was Drew's boss for a large portion of the series. His ridiculous methods for firing people were some of the funniest moments of the show. Rounding out the cast, are Steve and Kellie. Steve is Drew's older, cross-dressing brother. Kellie is Kate's replacement for the last 2 seasons.
The Drew Carey Show had a good run of wonderful episodes that gave every working man great pleasure. The plots are ridiculous and absurd, but they never cease to generate a few laughs.
